CERTIFICATE TRAINING PROGRAM IN AFTERCARE (CTPA)
Trained caregivers are essential in the restoration of exploited children. Love146 runs a five-day intensive training for grassroots caregivers already working with rescued children. The Love146 Certificate Training Program in Aftercare (CTPA) seeks to empower caregivers with the knowledge and skills that will enable them to provide children with specialized care. The program provides a certified qualification through an on-site training course and post-course evaluation.
Participants must be recommended by their organization. They must have finished at least secondary school. Participation is limited to 13 people because of the highly interactive nature of the training which emphasizes not only information and knowledge but also formation of the participants’ skills and attitudes that are necessary for the transformation of the child.
The CTPA aims to help restore mental health, rehabilitate broken lives, and facilitate reintegration into society of survivors of child sexual exploitation. This is accomplished by equipping workers and students with the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitudes in working with this type of children.
Training topics include:
-Effects of trafficking on children
-Physical intervention – primarily health care issues
-Establishing a rapport; communication techniques
-Planning interventions – psychological, educational, spiritual
The basic mode of instruction is case studies.
A training program certificate is given upon completion of the course and satisfactory evaluation six months following the course.
