Comic heros and heroines look differently today. They're not so much about being the strongest or fastest or having some bug gene that lets you swing from high buildings it's more about knowing who you are and walking (or tripping) through life with grace, humor and strength while changing the world somehow.
After attending a conference on Human Trafficking and mentoring a young girl that narrowly escaped being trafficked, Lora Innes who writes and draws a webcomic/print comic called The Dreamer decided she wanted to do something.

She created Comic Creator’s Alliance. Initially Lora emailed eight fellow creators asking if they would donate a drawing of one of their heroines to be made into a wallpaper. The response was overwhelming. Currently there are over eighty contributors! Now until January 24th if you donate to Comic Creator’s Alliance 100% of the donations will go to Love146 and Gracehaven House (Gracehaven provides shelter, security, and rehabilitation to girls under the age of 18 who are victims of commercial sexual exploitation in central Ohio) and you will receive a wallpaper with over 80 heroines pictured.

Yep, heroes and heroines look differently today, they can have purple hair, pointed ears, wings or live as an artist in Columbus Ohio.
A HUGE thank you to Lora and ALL of the contributors! You’re changing the lives of children across the world.
Abolition!

P.S. I had to show you what Shadowgirls creators David Reynolds and David A. Rodriguez did!
