Across Cambodia on December 12th we celebrated Anti-Human Trafficking Day. Jon and I had traveled to the border in the north of Cambodia which is a notorious area for the trafficking of children. We were able to visit AMAZING prevention projects (I will blog about those later) and attend Anti-Human Trafficking Day. Love146 was one of sponsors of this day but I was still shocked to see a parade of about 400 people wearing a t-shirt with our logo. It brought tears to my eyes to see a sea of children and adults parading in this notorious area to fight on behalf of children's lives.
Imagine if the U.S. had an Anti-Human Trafficking Day...

Below: A young girl (middle) standing in front of hundreds of people telling her own story of being trafficked. She spoke not only to the audience but to government officials of Thailand and Cambodia which were sitting on a stage. She asked them for stronger protection of children.
Imagine being that brave.

These volunteer child protection officers will work at the Thai-Cambodia border protecting children.
Re-imagine what superhero costumes look like.

Several children put on a play dipicting a mother who was tricked by a trafficker in to handing over her daughter.
Pictured below: right - trafficker, middle - young girl, left - buyer

Exchange of money for the child.

Trafficker finding a man who wants to buy the girl.

Girl begging man not to rape her.

Man upset because girl is fighting, argues with trafficker.

Child Protection Officers coming to intervene and rescue girl who was returned to her family.
Imagine a play that changes lives.

I love the banner below with the logos of so many NGO's.
Imagine what we could accomplish if we all worked together.

A child celebrating Anti-Human Trafficking Day.
Imagine such a celebration.

What a big message conveyed for such a high trafficking area! I believe this is truly a beautiful message and I know If I would have seen it I would have probably cried as I do thinking about it often. I pray that more people will use their faith by working it through action to bring justice and love to the oppressed and that the oppressors will feel conviction and a need to change.
