When I was in elementary school, Valentine’s Day was a big event. You got to make a valentine for everyone in your class, maybe adding some dabs of glitter to the cards going to your best friends and crushes. It’s a cherished childhood memory for me.
This year, Love146 is giving supporters the opportunity to send a valentine to the children in our Round Home. It’s a chance to get your craft on and create a note of encouragement and hope for a survivor. To celebrate childhood and to celebrate love.
I’ve had the privilege of receiving these Valentines in our office before we send them on to the safe home. This has been the highlight of my days this week- I have been so inspired and encouraged by them. Which makes it exciting to send them off overseas; to inspire and encourage the girls in the Round Home. Here are some of my favorites…

The valentines above and dozens more made touchdown in the Philippines this morning and are on their way to the girls in the Love146 Round Home.
Thank you so much to everyone who has made a Valentine for a survivor so far. They’re beautiful. I’m looking forward to the coming weeks as these messages of love and encouragement keep arriving.
peace & love,
Marilyn

Hi Marilyn, I would like to educate people from my church and school about love146. I wanted to ask them to make cards for the girls (even though it's not valentine's day, just cards of greeting and encouragement) Would that be possible? Jael jaellie@gmail.com

A HUGE thanks to everyone who sent valentines- we received an overwhelming amount and the second batch of them will be en route to the Round Home next weekend! The 'Send a Valentine' campaign was a specific initiative- however it is not in our policy to allow donors to correspond directly with the girls. We had to physically go through each of the Valentines sent in order to make sure that they were appropriate, it was greatly time consuming and we just don't have the staff to continue that process. Because of the nature of what these young girls have been through and the fact that in some cases their lives are still in danger, we are very protective of incoming communication. If anyone is particularly excited to write letters of encouragement, perhaps there is a local women's shelter, group home, brothers sisters club etc. that could benefit from your care and support. Thank you all for your hope, prayers, and love for these girls- and others- in their recovery and healing. Peace & Abolition, Marilyn
