At Christmas we can feel so guilty about all the poverty and war and pain in the world whilst we sit and eat our turkey. But guilt rarely motivates people to act so I want to tell you a story about some children...

Last week I met two children who had been evicted from their slum house and have lived in blue plastic tents with their families for the past year. The resilience of the children is amazing! One girl, Srey Nuk, was/is a real advocate for her community saying about the challenges of waiting to be re-evicted and the poor schooling and non-existent health centre. She was asking me to help. Now in Cambodia are thousands of children like her but I haven't met them. But I did meet her. And now I am excited about what I and my organization can do to help her and the other children in this small community. Two days after I met her the trucks came and she was shifted off to an even more desolate place than before but I spoke with Pastor Sina who has been working with me on this project and he said we should still go ahead with the Christmas party we had organized because we had promised it! So that is what we will do and after they have settled we will see how we can help them get to school. Thanks for all your support! It is making a difference in children’s lives.
