Dr. Glenn Miles

Glenn Miles, PhD (University of Wales), MSc. (University College London), RN-C, RN-A, RN-CA, PGCE-PCET, ACIE is the Love146 Director of Asia Prevention. He is responsible for capacity building Love146’s prevention partners in Asia. Glenn has more than 20 years experience focused on children at risk in Asia. His research concerns are understanding the opinions of under-represented and sexually exploited communities including boys and eunuchs and he has done research in India, Cambodia, Thailand, and Sri Lanka. He is research fellow at the University of Wales-Swansea and research advisor for Chab Dai, Cambodia.

Glenn's PhD in Childhood Studies focused on ‘Cambodian children’s experiences and understandings of violence’ including sexual abuse and trafficking was used as part of the UN Study on Violence against children (2005). Previously with the Viva Network he developed the www.CelebratingChildrentraining.info course which he rolled out into 9 countries in Asia and 4 countries in Africa. Glenn edited the book of the same name (with Wright, Paternoster 2003) as well as the Tearfund Children at Risk Guidelines series (with Stephenson 2002). He contributed to the ‘Hands that Heal’ curriculum. He designed and co-ordinated the development of the ‘Safe Children’ karaoke video packs in Cambodia. Glenn has conducted training and seminars up to post-graduate level in Australia, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Nepal, Poland, the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Uganda, the UK, and the USA.
