FAITH COMMUNITY NETWORK

“Do your little bit of good where you are; it’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.” Desmond Tutu

Communities of faith across the nation are standing alongside us, believing with us and working towards a world where children are free. Your faith community can be a part of ending child sex slavery & exploitation by joining the Love146 Faith Community Network (FCN). With your support and commitment we will be able to train and place caregivers, grow safehomes, protect children at risk and gain momentum in the movement to abolish child sex slavery and exploitation.

HOW TO BECOME A PART OF THE FCN

Your community can join the Faith Community Network by:

Giving financially to Love146- Without funding, our programs cannot run, children cannot be restored and trafficking continues. FCN members have committed to regular financial contributions to Love146 by giving either $5000 or 1-2% of the church budget annually.
Pray for Love146- We need people who believe the end of child sex slavery is possible. FCN members pray for the end of child sex slavery and exploitation and Love146 specific projects.
Educate your congregation on child sex slavery & exploitation- FCN members use this partnership to bring effective change and education to their own communities. We ask at least once a year FCN members commit to teaching about child sexual exploitation. For example, an FCN member may bring in a Love146 staff member to present to their congregation or a pastor, rabbi etc. may choose to work topics of justice and abolition into a message.
Ensure that the children of your community are safe- If your faith community does not already have a child protection policy in place, Love146 asks that as a member of our FCN you consider implementing a protection policy for the children in your community. We would be happy to provide you with example policies if necessary.
One Main Contact- While we recognize that many people within your community will be involved with our work we ask that each FCN member provides one main liaison for Love146 communication.

WHAT WE PROVIDE
Love146 will provide support and resources as we partner in this important work including:

A dedicated FCN staff member you can directly contact for your community’s needs

Educational materials about child sex slavery and exploitation including DVDs, reading lists, fact sheets, prayer updates, and newsletters

Opportunities to network with other FCN partners, Task Forces, and other resources for advocacy

Regular updates about the work of Love146, including bi-annual newsletters and an annual report

A partner trip where1-2 leaders may be able to join Love146 to learn about our projects in the field firsthand. (Space is limited. Love146 does not facilitate short-term trips for large teams because of the nature and issues revolving around our work)

Priority to book a Love146 speaker to share about the work of Love146 and God’s heart for justice

Your community will be highlighted on our website as a supporting member of the FCN and active in the fight for abolition (coming winter 2009)

While the reality of child sex slavery and exploitation is shocking, people of faith who are motivated by Love and are compelled to work together have the ability to change this shocking reality. Together our bits of good will overwhelm the world and lead to abolition! Love146 looks forward to partnering with your community of faith.
