Our approach to the abolition of child sexual exploitation continues to be multifaceted. In the words of Dr. Velazco, our Director of Aftercare "In this abolition movement, we need to declare an all-out war against child sexual exploitation and fight battles on many fronts." This gives us the unique opportunity to empower survivors and prevent the vulnerable from exploitation. In a recent update from Dr. Velazco she shares the importance of this value. Below is an excerpt from the update:

"Some of us lobby and advocate against it through media and networking with the powers-that-be. Some do active prevention work through livelihood, education, training, partnership, community development, etc. Some implement the different aspects of aftercare and reintegration. The idea is to neutralize the elements that could conspire to get the children in the situation of being exploited and to keep the children as far away as possible from that situation. They were rescued from the brothels or from the street, then brought to a safehome. There, they are equipped with values and coping devices that could re-mold and empower them not to be exploited again. They are put back on the developmental path where they left off. They are at the stage in their lives when they could fall in love and long to be with a life partner. And because they have improved personalities, they could be fallen in love with, sincerely. They begin a life of partnership in love. We bring the battle there. We try to help strengthen the relationship through counseling. We help with livelihood."
