Love146 believes it is both our privilege and responsibility to respond to the Biblical and human mandate to act on behalf of the suffering, the vulnerable, and the oppressed. The Prayer Blog engages the power of faith and prayer to respond to that mandate. Our prayers are requests for help or expressions of thanks to a Being larger than ourselves. If you are a member of a faith community or a believer in the power of prayer, please check in or subscribe here to the Prayer Blog for consistant prayer requests and updates. Thank you for partnering with us in this way.

Passage to India and Sri Lanka

Our Director of Asia Prevention, Glenn Miles, left yesterday from Cambodia to visit our partners and networking collaboraters in India and Sri Lanka.  He will be traveling back and forth between India and Sri Lanka during July and August.

In India, Glenn will connect with the head of our Boys Reintegration and Research Project, which focuses on assisting youth who want to leave the massage parlor industry.  This project facilitates alternative vocational training opportunities, job placement, and microlending.  Glenn will also travel to some rural provinces with the project director to get a better understanding on why boys might leave their villages and get lured into the masage parlor industry.

In Sri Lanka, Glenn will help facilitate a South Asia Anti-Trafficking Network meeting.

Please pray:

+ for smooth connecting flights and zero complications with his double-entry visa!

+ for productive meetings in India, especially as Glenn and the project leader see to make trusting relationships in the rural villages

+ for a good turnout at the South Asia Anti-Trafficking Network meeting and that participants would come with useful resources that they could share with others.  Also, please pray that each person would feel comfortable with sharing openly about what is going well and where they need assistance.
