It was a great piece, well put together and heartfelt, and then the whole barack obama stuff? really? when it comes to something so horrible as human trafficking-do we really need to hear your politically leanings and crap?

There were no political leanings mentioned, Obama was just used as a symbol of the end of 19th century slavery in the United States. I felt that it was appropriate to hope that 21st century slavery will end during his term of office. It should never have existed in the first place.

While the political stuff is out of place, it's even more out of place for you to complain about these people finding hope in a political figure.
When you think about it, when is it not a good time to include politics in a discussion about human values and human rights? True, while many places have outlawed slavery, there is still illegal slavery taking place. But if the efforts to stop slavery aren't enough when the initiative is done by ordinary people, it's nice to put your hopes in the leaders of the world to make a difference.
