Thomas Myhren

Born in Norway and raised in Africa, South America and Asia, Thomas Christian Myhren stems from a family devoted to humanitarian efforts. Exposed to grave injustices from an early age spanning poverty, conflict and famine, a deep sense of commitment to rights-based work emerged during his childhood which he has carried on throughout his life.

Thomas holds a B.A. in International Business from institutions in Australia (Griffith University), Norway (BI – Norwegian School of Management) and China (Fudan University), and a M.A. in International Relations and World Order from the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom which included a significant focus on international humanitarian law. Having a career that spans over two decades with the United Nations Children’s Fund and Save the Children, he has worked in both development and emergency settings across five continents. Thomas has held leadership positions within Development, Programmes and Monitoring and Evaluation, giving him a unique understanding on how programmes are resourced, designed, implemented and assessed. Of note he served as Associate Vice President for Corporate Partnerships with Save the Children US, Chief of Strategic Planning, Budget and Donor Relations with UNICEF Ethiopia, and most recently as Senior Adviser with Generation Unlimited – a United Nations led initiative focused on skilling and connecting marginalized young people to employment opportunities.

Having lived in multiple countries across six continents, Thomas brings a perspective of universal dignity, that all children and people should be safe and have opportunities to pursue their ambitions.
