Working to remove child abuse images (also known as ‘child pornography’) and prevent people from viewing them is an important step in caring for survivors of sexual exploitation.
Surprisingly, many perpetrators explain that they initially just “stumbled across” these images. Some even described being shocked when they were facing criminal charges because they thought, ‘if it’s this easy to find, it must be legal!’.
This is an opportunity for prevention. Yahoo is one of the world’s most popular search engines, and a simple search such as “child sex video” can result in a list of links that can lead to child abuse images.
Urge them to implement a zero tolerance policy for child abuse images on Yahoo search engines and Yahoo email services.
