if you're considering a meaningful donation,

a matching gift fuels incredible results.

Mentioning matching gifts in fundraising appeals results in a 71% increase in response rate.

the details...

Matching gifts are a critical part of Love146’s fundraising strategies.

84% of potential donors say they’re more likely to give if a match is offered. 1 in 3 donors indicated they’d give a larger gift if a match is applied, resulting in a 51% increase in average gift size. Fundraising campaigns with matching gifts are time-sensitive. We typically give terms such as “Over the next 2 weeks, your donations bring 2x the impact thanks to a generous matching gift!” As we countdown the days left in the campaign, this urgency combined with the match produces a strong response. We’ve even had donors tell us they’re saving their money so they can give when a matching gift is announced.

Becoming a matching donor is a powerful way to amplify your impact and inspire others to support your cause. Here’s how it works:

First, you commit to being a matching donor by pledging a specific amount to match donations from Love146’s fellow supporters. This commitment will connect to a specific fundraising campaign & timeframe, for example, the #GivingTuesday campaign. Typically, donations are matched in 1:1 ratio, and Love146’s marketing communicates that every dollar donated by others will be doubled.

As the campaign kicks off, Love146 will work closely to monitor the progress of the campaign. As donations pour in, you’ll see the impact of your matching gift. Your generosity will inspire others to give more generously, knowing that their gifts will have a more significant impact. By becoming a matching donor, you not only increase the financial support for our cause but also inspire and motivate others to contribute more generously. Your generosity plays a pivotal role in driving positive change and achieving our mission

As a matching donor, you have the choice to decide whether you’d like to make your support anonymous or be named publicly, including brand promotion.

Anonymous Support: If you prefer to remain anonymous, your generous contribution will still make a significant impact, but your identity will be kept confidential. This option allows you to support our cause discreetly.

Public Support: On the other hand, if you choose to make your gift publicly, we’ll celebrate and acknowledge your contribution using your name or brand. Your commitment will inspire others to follow your lead, and we’ll recognize your generosity in our communications.

The choice is entirely yours, and both options are equally valued. Your decision on anonymity or public branding allows you to support our cause in the way that aligns best with your preferences. If you have any questions or would like to discuss this further, please feel free to reach out to our team. Your support, no matter how you choose to give it, helps us make a difference for a child and helps us stop exploitation.

Your generosity as a matching donor will significantly impact our work to end child trafficking. Here are suggestions on how you can decide on the right amount:

Collaborate with Love146’s Team: Work  with our team to understand the campaign’s funding needs. For example, during our Giving Tuesday campaign, we typically need a matching donor (or cohort of donors) to pledge at least $75,000, so we can set the bar publicly at $150,000 or more.

Flexible Contribution Levels: If providing the full match amount isn’t possible, that’s perfectly fine! A contribution of $5,000 to $10,000 will also make you a valuable part of a group of matching donors. This is a common approach.

Your gift goes farther: In busy and distractible times, your generosity in a matching gift will activate our supporters to complete their donations and give even more.

Your matching gift can be a part of your partnership as an Organizational Supporter of Love146. To explore the other benefits of becoming an Organizational Supporter, click here.
