Here at Love146, we are absolutely thrilled when someone wants to take their gifts, their influence and their time to support us in creative ways we couldn’t do (much less think of!) on our own.
One such effort has been growing over the last few weeks and it’s such an encouragement to us in the office that I wanted it to be shared.
Laurie and her husband Dave have been friends of ours for a long time. Laurie comes from a background that includes the clothing and retail industries. But after being introduced to Love146 and the realities of children being bought and sold for sex, she and Dave wanted to make an impact immediately.
Laurie used her experience in the retail industry to develop a line of clothing called Laugh and decided to give proceeds to organizations fighting for justice, Love146 being one of the few.
In Laurie’s words:
“We are excited about the work that Love146 is doing in all aspects of fighting child trafficking and exploitation. A few years back we were introduced to Love146. Dave and I had a wonderful dinner with founder Rob Morris and Faith Community Coordinator Matthew Miller. Their desire to help children impacted us.
A few months later I traveled with representatives of Love146 to Southeast Asia where I was able to see the various ways they are fighting this issue on the ground and working with excellent individuals that are lovingly caring for exploited children. Our hope is that as Laugh grows we will always be able to support the efforts of Love146.
Love146 is beginning to grow it’s efforts in America, specifically in prevention education to U.S. classrooms. We understand the importance of each stage in the process of rescuing and rehabilitating children who have been exploited and we are excited to also see a determined focus by Love146 at the root level of education so that children understand the dangers that exist in today’s environment. The more we can teach our young people the truth about child trafficking and exploitation the more they can avoid situations that would put them in harm’s way.
Laugh is dedicated to developing the highest quality designer children’s apparel, but we’re just as dedicated towards giving 30% of our profits back to fighting child trafficking and exploitation.”
As the holiday season approaches, consider buying from Laugh and purchasing gifts that give back in a huge way.
Simply visit Laugh’s website and enter the code “LOVE146” at checkout. Laugh already gives 15% of their proceeds to Love146, but entering this code will give us an extra 15% — meaning that 30% of proceeds from your purchase helps fund our work!
