Mistakes are a natural part of being human. We work with survivors of child trafficking. Their journey to recovery isn’t easy and it certainly isn’t perfect. It comes with many obstacles and bumps in the road.
But after over 20 years of doing this work, we’ve seen the radical difference that it makes when a child knows someone believes in them, and they don’t have to walk alone. Because of the dependable support from people like you, we get to sit with survivors and tell them,
“We’re here for you. We believe in you and if you make a mistake, that’s okay. That’s part of life. We just get back up, learn from it, and work through it. We’re here to walk with you for as long as you need us.”
When you know somebody’s there for you, it pushes you to get over that challenge, over that barrier, and to persevere. I’m reminded of one young survivor who wisely said,
“When you refuse to give up, that’s when hope becomes real.”
Love146 never closes a case, so while we can’t make the journey to recovery easy for children, we can promise to be there with them every step of the way.
I have the same hope for you. I hope you find the people who will believe in you. I hope you believe in them, too. And if you make a mistake, I hope you remember: it’s okay.
With love,
