It has been a long few weeks as we awaited the arrival of three new girls to the Round Home. Last week we were thrilled to welcome them home. The process by which girls are referred to the home can often be long and drawn out, so when they are able to come to the home it is a very special day. Dr. Velazco shared with us what it was like when the girls arrived:
“The older residents had been waiting for them for some weeks now and eagerly welcomed them.”
“And they walked towards where they can finally find peace in their lives.”
“The older residents shared how happy they are in the Round Home.”
“The older residents oriented the new ones on the rules and regulations in the Round Home.”
The girls will now begin their restoration. Two of them have already shown interest in teaching the other girls how to cross stitch. The Round Home staff have been nurturing this skill by purchasing supplies and making time for them to teach. This skill will provide not only possible livelihood for the future but an opportunity for therapy at the home.
We will continue to keep you updated as the girls continue on their path to restoration.
The staff and older residents welcome the three new girls home.
