Most of the world never saw it coming. 2020 took us by surprise. Maybe you’ve been caught off guard this year by loss, grief, fear, uncertainty, sickness, and suffering. At Love146, we can relate. We are living in a really messed-up world and through a really hard year.
But there is more to the story. We have also been caught off guard by generosity, perseverance, defiant hope, and even unfiltered joy. We’ve seen these things profoundly displayed in the lives of the children and youth we work with. And we have seen it in you.
We have heard the oft-used description this year, “essential workers”, which has included everyone from frontline medical professionals to grocery store clerks. The people we can’t live without came clearly into focus. As a supporter of Love146, you are our equivalent of “essential workers.” We simply could not provide the care needed for survivors of child trafficking, or do the work we do to prevent children from being exploited….without you. You sustain this work and your friendship sustains us.
Thank you for helping add so much “beautiful” to a year that had the potential to only be “terrible.” You are more than essential. May your new year be filled with more defiant hope and unfiltered joy.
