The National Human Trafficking Hotline run by Polaris helps connect survivors to the support that they need. We count on the Hotline to help protect the youth we serve: In the past two years, 156 youth have been reached by Love146’s US Survivor Care Program, and we have made sure that every one of those youth receive the National Human Trafficking Hotline contact information. Trained hotline advocates ensure safety, present options, and ultimately connect survivors to local service providers.
In 2015 the National Association of Attorney General (NAAG) promoted the hotline through a national initiative.
In states where the hotline was widely publicized by the state Attorney General’s Office, hotline call volume increased by up to 200%.
Last year, 1,600 survivors of human trafficking accessed the NHTRC or Polaris’s BeFree Textline to access services and support. The NHTRC has sent more than 6,500 tips to local and federal law enforcement and helped law enforcement arrest more traffickers.
With increased support from your Attorney General, states can can stop traffickers from harming more people and help survivors find the services they need.
