Our Love146’s 2023 Texas Red Gala was held at the Lone Star Flight Museum in Houston, surrounded by vintage and modern aircraft. I thought about how two brothers (Wilbur and Orville) probably found themselves as children lying in a field looking up at the sky and dreaming, “Wouldn’t it be awesome to fly?” That dream has resulted in the amazing flying machines we were surrounded by that night, including one that’s even gone to space.
When the Wright brothers first began to dream, they likely were called naive or idealistic. But eventually, others believed in the dream and joined them, providing expertise, funds, time, energy, ideas, and dedication until the dream became a reality.
Twenty years ago, a dream was born in us at Love146. The end of child trafficking and exploitation. Nothing less. Since then, others have joined us to pursue that dream, providing expertise, funds, time, energy, etc. Some may call us naive or idealistic. We are not. We are audacious. And it is people of audacity who change the world.
