After we leave the center, the images and voices of the youth left inside remain with us. They are children struggling with the same issues that children outside the walls struggle with: self-image, a need to belong, figuring out who they are in the world, wanting to be genuinely loved.

It’s important to know what a trafficking situation could look like – it takes a communal effort to end the exploitation of minors. Here are some potential red flags, common situations, and vulnerabilities of child trafficking.
Where Does Human Trafficking Occur? Child Trafficking Hotspots
Trafficking occurs wherever there are people. If you looked at a map of trafficking referrals, major highways, and human population density, you’d find they are often closely aligned. Where there are more people, more children are likely being exploited. So yes, big cities could be “hotspots” for trafficking, but more accurately, they’re hotspots of human population. Period.
