Children Shouldn’t Have to Be Resilient to Exploitation

We often call children strong. Brave. Resilient. And they are.

But when we are talking about children who have been exploited, resilience is not something to celebrate. It is evidence that something happened that should never have happened at all.

Children should not have to adapt to exploitation. They should be protected from it.

That is why Love146 exists.

Through prevention education, we help young people recognize manipulation before it becomes entrapment. We help them find language for what is happening. We help trusted adults notice risk earlier and respond with care.

And when a child has already been harmed, we do not walk away. Through our Survivor Care, children and youth receive steady, trauma-informed support as they begin to rebuild safety, trust, and hope.

Contributions from supporters like you help children receive long-term care, expands prevention efforts, and builds a world where exploitation has less and less room to exist.

One day, we will look back and ask: When we understood what was happening, what did we do? Did we just admire the resilience of children in the face of exploitation? Or did we help build a world where they would not need it?
