“I met him at the mall…
I met him at the park …
He was amazing …
He listened to me…
It’s just kind of weird because part of me still loves him …”
— Love146 Survivor Care Program Manager, Erin Williamson, describing to a New Haven Register reporter what she hears from child sex trafficking survivors in Connecticut about their exploiters.
Since January 2014, Love46 has been serving survivors of child sex trafficking in Connecticut, journeying alongside children, providing them with trauma-informed advocacy, and ensuring these children receive the services they need to become self-sufficient and flourishing adults.
To date, the response to Love146’s Connecticut Survivor Care program has been tremendously positive. As the charts in the booklet below indicate, referrals to our Survivor Care program have been rising dramatically since the program’s inception. Next month, we’ll begin our third year providing these services. Looking back at this program’s activity, this booklet includes reports and nitty gritty details about our services and the children we’re working with.

For the past couple years, Love146’s Survivor Care program has been a critical element in the groundbreaking efforts that are bringing together Connecticut prosecutors, law enforcement, state government, and service organization to stop trafficking and exploitation. The idea: to crack down on traffickers and provide appropriate resources and trauma-informed care to the children who have been trafficked and exploited. For on-the-ground insight into this fight in Connecticut, check out the New Haven Register’s recent story, “Sex Trafficking Referrals on Rise,” which features an extensive interview with our Survivor Care Program Manager, Erin Williamson.
Your continued support and engagement fuels this work. The services Love146 provides to children are critical – as one of the survivors in our care told us, “This program is great for girls and guys like me because it gives us someone to trust, especially if we have been in the ‘life,’ and don’t know how to deal with the emotions that brings forth. There is no judgment involved, and for that I am extremely grateful.”
