“We will do anything to help create a future where children are safe. This is our radical mission. This is our purpose. 2017 will be a powerful year. We are just beginning!” –Michelle Phan
Thanks to Michelle Phan and hundreds of amazing and generous people who gave this past December, we’re thrilled to share that donations far surpassed this campaign’s goal. Individual donors gave nearly $50,000 to the campaign! Coupled with Michelle Phan’s generous offer to match $2 for every $1 donated up to $35,000, your efforts amounted to over $120,000! These funds mean so much in helping children stay safe from exploitation, caring for children who have been trafficked, and supporting children as they seek justice.
We are deeply moved by the outpouring of support – not just for the dollars you contributed, but also for the passion and caring we heard directly from you in your comments. Your heartfelt feedback sustains us as we work together to create a safer world for children.
We wanted to share just a few of the many inspiring comments donors made during this campaign:
My father gave me this money for my birthday. He said to spend it how I want. He even suggested that I donate it to a sex trafficking advocacy organization in the name of my bakery. But this is actually a donation from him. He provided a safe place for me to recover and start my bakery, Second Rising. Because of the safe place he provided and all his financial support for my bakery I am not in need or want right now. This money would be better spent helping in the rescuing and recovering of those that are sex trafficked.

I love your work and instead of buying Christmas presents I’d rather give a little money to you.

Cannot explain in words how I feel when I read all these stories. Feel whatever I am doing is not enough. Trafficking is just horrible. I have two little girls. No child should be in such a fear. Thank you for helping them. Keep up the good work.

I hope this donation helps out a child in the future. I’m glad to help someone out 🙂

I asked my best friend what she wanted for Christmas and she said she didn’t need anything and to make a donation to Love146!! So excited for this triple impact opportunity! …

Instead of waiting [for] somebody to change something, I want to be the one who will change it.

Keep up the good work! I intend donate again on May 26, the 146th day of 2017.

Love the work that Love146 does and how you educate people on what you do! Education and awareness are key and Love146 does them best!

Human trafficking is one of the worst injustices that exist in the world today, and I’m glad someone is working to combat it. Organizations like love146 restore my faith in the goodness of humanity.

Sometimes the stories on the news make me feel so helpless: stories of children exploited, abused, and abandoned by those who were always meant to protect them. It gives me so much hope that you take action, you … fight for [children], give them the protection and most importantly the love that they need. I’m honored to support you and I only wish I could do more. Thank you so much for fighting the evil and restoring these children.
